Every writer has a moment when a story chooses them. For me, that moment arrived in Lent of 2020, during a season already marked by uncertainty and reflection. What began as a series of vivid dreams – quiet, persistent, and strangely urgent – became the seed of a story I believed would be my first and only book. That story became Two Promises, a simple narrative published in June 2020, born from the stillness of early pandemic days and the spiritual questions I was wrestling with at the time.
I thought the journey was complete. But the dreams had other plans.
When One Book Became Three
During Lent 2021, the dreams returned – stronger, more detailed, and clearly connected to the world I had already written. They pushed the story forward, expanding its scope and deepening its themes. That unexpected second wave of inspiration became Lord of the Rain, a continuation of the original storyline that arrived almost as naturally as the first.
By 2022, a third set of dreams emerged, carrying the narrative to its conclusion. They formed the foundation of 42 Months, the final book in what had now become The End of Tribulation Trilogy. But these dreams did more than complete the story – they revealed gaps, lessons, and reflections that needed to be woven back into the earlier books. That realization led to a full rewrite of Two Promises and Lord of the Rain, adding new content and a Points to Ponder section for each chapter.
Those additions transformed the trilogy from a simple narrative into a spiritual companion – part story, part reflection, part invitation.
A Trilogy That Became a Turning Point
What began as a single book unexpectedly opened the door to an entire writing life. The trilogy became the foundation for new ideas, new characters, and new worlds – each shaped by the same blend of inspiration, reflection, and faith that sparked the first dream in 2020. Today, the story continues through additional books, each one building on the lessons learned during the creation of the trilogy.
The journey that started with one unexpected book has grown into a library of stories I never imagined writing. And I’m grateful for every reader who chooses to walk through these pages with me.
